Thanks guys. One more ? Is the indentation in my '99's hood the same width as the years with the scoop so it will line up with that distance across? That would look better and help locate the scoop. I'll check out both the recommendations! Mark

i very seriously doubt you'll be able to fit just the scoop onto a hood that didn't come with one in the first place. probably be better off just buying a hood with one already on it.

Aren't you the guy putting 12" wide wheels on the back of your car? Just looking into it at this point but I will find a Mustang to take measurements from before I spend cash. I doubt Ford used a different hood just to attach a scoop but I'll find out! mark
PS: Those Weld wheels are amazing aren't they? I picked up a 15"x10" yesterday and could not believe how light they are. Very nice.

yea i love welds too i sold these and got some draglites. too bad they are having finacial trouble i might be selling the draglites i have now so i can get a set of M/T wheels

as far as the hood goes...IMO its always best to go solid and by that i mean don't try to put two pcs together that didn't come that way originally. theres a chance it could come off at high speeds, paint peeling or chiping and warping in the summer heat.

I have you and no trouble here. As I understand it the hoods on the later cars are held on by "x' screws and the rest is double sided tape. I like the hood with dual scoops that exit at the cowl I think but they seem to be available only for the '05 and up. I think they are a GT500 hood. Other than that I like the factory scoop.
So you sold the Pro Stars and got drag lites? Are all of the Weld wheels 15", nothing larger?
As far as their bankruptcy I believe American has made them an offer if not actually having absorbed them already. I think a Rodlite, 15"x7" weighs 12lbs.!!!
My bullitt knockoffs are 25# for the 17"x9" and 28# for the 17"x10.5". Saleen wheels are even heavier as I had a set of 17"x8" on my Talon and they were 29# each!
Off topic, sorry. I just want to change the look of my car over the winter while it is in my garage sitting. Yeah those Pro Stars are really sharp wheels. I tried to find the relationship between losing unsprung weight compared to body weight and I came up with an 8:1 ratio but could not confirm that. That means my friend who is getting Welds for his '65 Chrysler 300L is going to drop 48 lbs. of wheel weight and that "could" be like dropping 400# of body weight!
WOW!
