4.10s too much after trans swap!

So I recently swapped my car to a 5 speed and now my gears are too much for my setup. I have to shift twice before I get through an intersection. I cant get traction in first at all and second is almost as bad and Im running a 10.5" wheel out back with DR's. I was going to put my 3.73s back but now I'm thinking about 3.55s. What do you guys think?

With a stick and a SC I would probably run 3.73s. With Forced Induction usually you don't need as much gear as N/A. It depends what you want out of your ride, 3.55s might be fine for you if you street cruise alot.

im throwing 3.73's in mine. I have the stock 3.27's now and have driven a car with 3.73's and i feel those are the best choice of gears for a cars thats FI or just making alota power

I thought everyone would say 373s. I went from 373s to 4.10s while it was an Auto and didn't notice a big difference between them so I was a little worried that the 3.73 would feel the same as it does now. I guess I can always switch to the 3.55s if I don't like the 3.73s and it would only be a few hours and a new crush washer.

What is your setup? Unless you got a roots blower your driving skills are the lostered. Here is an idea - dont hammer it to the floor everytime you press the gas.

My Mods are listed in my garage with the exception of the 5speed and spec stage 2+ clutch that I just installed. You dont have to hammer the throttle in my car to get loose in first or second. I'm no pro but like everyone else I think I'm a decent driver.

i looked at your garage.. I don't see why you don't love 4:10's.
only 2 reasons I can think of is that you do a lot of highway driving/roll racing or your tires are shit.

My BFG DR's have seen better days so I will replace the tires before I decide to change gearing again. Maybe I'm just not used to it yet. Its only been a 5 speed for a week.

that's probably it honestly. I have had 3:73's and 4:10's in my old 01 GT and the 4:10's hands down were better.

So what did you run for a clutch? My spec clutch is giving my leg a workout.

Im making 300+ rwhp with a spec stage 3 clutch and im coming across the quarter fairly close to the redline in 4th gear with 4.10s. I cant understand why you're not liking them. I dont have any issues with wheelspin unless i hit it too hard in first or second. Otherwise they pull pretty strong compared to the stock gearing.

How much power did you put down with that car? NOS or FI?
