Did you disconnect any of the steering column wiring or mess with anything under the dash during the swap? If not is it possible you're battery was weak during re-programming?

one more important note. my original battery was dead after the swap so i had to install a new battery. i had the pats problem before and i know that the battery can trigger it so i disconnected the new battery for 20 seconds, reconnected it and still had the same problem.

i didnt touch anything under the dash. yeah i think it was a weak battery that triggered it but how do i fix that problem?

I believe u said you re-programmed the pcm. What flash tool or chip did you use. If the battery was weak during reprogramming it is possible you lost communication and only have a partial file installed. You could also have a blank PCM. A weak battery can cause the PATS module to turn on but the PCM which takes alot more power to run will not which results in the flashing theft light due to lack of communication. Once the voltage level is restored or returned to normal everything should operate normally. Is you're theft light still flashing now/ do you have command start. Also make sure you have a chipped key in the ignition, I have seen it a few times and done it myself where I had the wrong key/door key in the ignition or another pats key on my chain causing interference.

yeah i've done the key thing too. No command start and i have a diablo tuner. the theft light still flashes. i'm thinking tune the pcm again?

Try putting it back to stock. Then see if it starts.
