p1000 touble code and motor won't start
Alright, i just swapped motors and everything seems to be hooked up right. I have a new battery, the motor turns over so the starters good, but the motor won't actually fire. Of course I'm getting the p1000 trouble code but would that keep my motor from firing? The fuel pump turns on and I have fuel pressure. Sounds electrical to me. Anyone know where to start for this problem?

maybe a short.
but if your getting no spark it's obviously somewhere in the "spark" area of your car. plugs, cop's, starter, shit like that. |

i read somewhere that when you do the swap you have to get something reset somewhere (lot of help right?). but anyways there is a theft system somewhere in the electrical system, and when you swap engines the computer needs to have this theft protection system reset or it wont start. kind of thought it was a radio thing, but it might actually be in the ecu.

First did you swap in a new motor or are you swapping in a different engine in this car. Even if you are swapping a new motor in the pcm will still not activate the pats immobilization system. If you happened to change pcm's though this will cause pats to activate. You will have to get a ford dealer to do a PATS parameter reset, Or talk to the guys at sniper who can sell you performance electronics also. If the theft light is flashing it indicates a problem with the system. If you can tell me info on what you swapped into where and what electronics were changed (especially the pcm and instrument cluster) I may be able to help you get around it. If it is a simple engine swap ie stroker shortblock etc. the pcm does not care until electrical components are swapped.

Also a p1000 just means the OBDII drive cycle has not been completed since codes have been cleared or KAM reset. (ie battery disconnect). It will show up until the drive cyle completes which can be up to 48 hours of driveing time depending on driving habits.

i swapped my 2001 2v for a 2002 2v. i broke a rod in my old motor and had an extra 2v so i put that in. everthing except the block and heads are original.
