heads anc cams


just wanted to get your thoughts on what heads to go with and cams. i have talked to a couple people that are helping me build the engine but i know theres a lot of knowledgeable people on this site. also i will have a forged shortblock set up and theres gonna be a procharger on it. would the patriot stage 3s be over kill? i am gonna be ordering the rest of my parts this weekend so any help would be appreciated. thanks

i just realized something do they even make the patriots to fit the windsor blocks?a block from a 96 is a windsor right? cause thats what i am using to build my motor. if so what are my choices???thanks

they are called modular for a reason. they are all interchangable. the stage 3 would be fine but unless your wanting to make a shit ton f power i say stick with a stage 2 and stage 2 cam. VT heads and comp cams. but the more air you flow, the more power you are going to make. so a stage 3 head and cam package would be okay but they stage 3 cams arent gonne hit till about 4000 rpms. they dont idle smooth and are hard to tune for down low. they sound mean but arent the most streetable cam. i say for driveability reasons go with stage 2 cams and maybe a stage 3 head. the patriots are a decent set of heads also so dont let people tell you they suck.

im guessing you got the procharger and all that junk allright. did everything look good to you and were you satisfied. anyways let me know!!!

yea i got the procharger.thanks for gettin it out to me. its already on the way to procharger to get rebuilt if it needs it. so will i need to order anything else extra with the heads....what will i need to do to make them fit that block? sorry if its a dumb question, just wanna make sure i get all the stuff i need.i know i will a head changing kit. thanks

well im pretty sure they should bolt right up. the only real difference between the block is the way the mains are bolted down. now i may be wrong but i dont think i am. they should botl right up. i also suggest to change out the patriot springs for comps beehive springs.
