Loud Noises

Ok i have a loud noise coming from what seems to be the driveshaft. It sounds similar to very loud bicycle breaks (the rubber ones) or inline roller blades when they are stopping. I did just install motive 4.10's and when we put the drive shaft back on we lined it up in the exact spot it came off, any ideas? I know some gears can whine but this is not a whine.

Is it a thumping sound? Check the bolts on the drive shaft make sure they are not backing out.

how long has it been since you change your brake pads and how many miles are on the car?

only driveshaft related thing I can think of though is the U joints which is a cheap and easy fix.

Pull the pads out an see if the slide pins in the bracket are moving in and out. They rust and freeze in place. I have seen it alot. If they are frozen, just replace the bracket. Orreily and autozone sell them.

dumb idea, but my buddy with a 04 mach called me the other day and was having the same problem after a spring install, he said that it was a weird noise and when he hit the brakes it went away, i suggested that he check his lugs and sure enough he never tightened them down...idiot lol
