My first stang race... i have a question

Ive raced ever since ive gotten my license... but it always been 350z, cobalt, preludes, camero's, etc.. ive yet to race another stang... well, im pretty sure i can win this, he (a friend of mine) has a stock 01-02 v6 mustang, and its a stick shift... i have a stock 02 mustang gt.. he claims he can win just for the fact that he has a stick shift..

but im here to get some pre-race thoughts on who will win... and its a red-light run (from dead stop)

^ Yeah.. 190hp VS 260hp... BIG DIFF... but here is his theory.. he thinks that since he has a stick shift.. he can start out so much faster that i wont be able to catch up to him...

he wants to hurry and race because friday he is getting a supercharger... btw.. is it true that a super/turbo kit will give a (a range of) 50% increase of current hp?

so GT would be 260>390hp and v6 would be 160>240hp.. just another Q while staying on topic

completly depends on the blower and everything else, what type of blower is he geitng? you can change EVERYTHING in less then ten minutes by changing just the pulley. and you will definitly beat him if its a quarter mile race. it will actualy be funny to see him try beat you, if you guys are stock for stock he might not even be able to get ahead of you through first... get him to put money or something on it you gotta love the suckers

if he's blown it'll be close but you would still have more tq. and would probably still win.

like i said before you will beat him so badly i dont know what hes thinking but if hes that confident sand bag the first one make it realy realy close or even loose by like a bumper and claim you won, he will want a rematch then bet shit loads of money on and let that 4.6 breathe it will be great,\

ive had both v6 and gt. the 6 seemed faster to 15mph then bye bye says the gt.LOL the gt will pound and pund on it like a whore on dollar day.

Ive raced a number of sixers with my 00 barely modded GT. Its not even a close race. I did barely lose once to a 04 sixer with a turbo setup though.... Either way, that guy is going to be really sad when he races you...Keep us posted on the stomping

one more question... would it be better for me to start in first, second, then Drive? or just start in drive? i usually just race in drive because when switching from 1st to 2nd in an auto it loses big HP

just be like..."idk man, you got a manual.."..make it seem like u dont wana race then put like $100 on it or more

honestly this shouldnt even be a question but...no question is stupid.

the only way you'd lose is if your a REALLLY REALLY REALLY HORRIBLY TERRIBLE driver, like theworst ever. your talkin about a low 14sec/high 13 vs a 16sec high 15...
you'd basiccally have to be on crack to lose

You might go a little faster if you comanded the shift. But you really wont need it. You will win this hands down so be safe and just floor it in drive...
