My 3650 is different from a 05 3650???

I installed a set of 4.10s in a friends 05 GT last night and his car is geared completely different than my car with a trans swap from an 04 GT. Is there a difference between the 05 and 04 TR3650? I swapped my car to 3.73s and my car is right around the same RPM as his car with 4.10s? Our shift points are within a few MPH. Did they make the TR3650 with different gear ratios?

The difference was from 1-3 though. I'm thinking maybe this trans is not from a mustang or has been changed for some reason. I'm going to jack the car up when I get home and rotate the motor by hand and see if my ratio are even close to the ones you posted.

The only reason the new ones use a different short htrow is because the tranny sits up from the center dash. Basically when they dropped the tranny and motor in the shifter was sticking through the stereo so they engineered a way to extend the shifter arm for the tailpiece to make it in the proper area...

same tranny. It will work. 5th gear is different thats it. Also i beleive the 05+ use a hydraulic clutch assembly instead of cable.
