forged Vs. Cryo diped


any one know anything about this? a freind of mine that runs a mod sled had hes whole top end cryo diped,(when you dunk it liqued nitrogen) he said that it makes the parts even stronger then forged parts? not planing on doing a motor up that much any time soon but just thought it was a cool topic.

Stonger than forged parts = FALSE

The cryo process does the exact same thing as heat tempering dose...

It increases the hardness of the metal...but also makes the metal more brittle too.

A forged steel product will always be stronger than a cast steel product of the same mass. (ie...forged crank vs. cast crank)

hmm interesting, so if its more brittle why the hell would all the two stroke race engines do it??

never herd of that in a car only in dirt bikes and quads
