Brake Question

Alright 2000 GT cobra brake kit blah blah blah. It makes this sound when I am goin down the road that sounds like somethin is loose, but when I apply brake pressure it goes away. It is on the drivers side front caliper. When I took the wheel off everything way tight and secure from what I could tell. I can recreate the noise w/ the car jacked up by spinning the wheel, but can't get around the wheel/tire to see what it is. And like I said everything is tight I pulled and pulled but nothing seemed to be out of place or loose. IDK Anyone have any suggestions?

There are shims (I can't remember the real name.) that go on the brake pad to prevent chatter. Little bitty clips that most of us throw away.

You mean the little flat things that come w/ pads that go between the pad and the caliper that I didn't put on either side?(lol) If that were the case wouldn't both sides be making the noise and not just the left?

Yep. That's them. And, they are not always needed. Just sometimes.

Edit. I am assuming that the rotor is OK.

Yeah the rotor is fine from what I can tell no deep groves or anything, pads look healthy and the caliper obviously works b/c when I hit the brakes the noise goes away. Im thinkin of havin the front rotors turned any way maybe its one of those freak fixes.

turning the rotors wont fix the noise. I have yet to see those calipers not make noise. just live with it.

Um, no. I can't have my car sounding like a piece goin down the road or let somthin get worse and worse until it finally breaks and then I'll have more money, that I don't have, to spend. Keep them ideas comin people.
