what mods you have? if you dont have much done, just get a stock replacement. no need to go out and get a heavy clutch when its not needed.

The stage 3+ is easier to pus than the stage 2. It just chatters a little until it is broken in good.

That's what I'm saying- the Spec stage 3 is very easy to use, and it will take whatever mods he throws at it. The GT in the driveway has a Spec stage 2 and the 03 Cobra has a Spec stage 3. The Cobra feels like a stock clutch....

If you are running stickies, a heavy clutch, a ten spline input shaft, and dead hooking on a prepped track, that COULD happen. We can site remote instances all night long. However, my suggestion would be to use the Spec3+ as an excellent clutch for the street with plenty of holding power for mods.

Well, you obviously have a well founded opinion. However, I will still say that I think it is an excellent choice in my professional opinion.

spec clutches are great no doubt about that, i am stating that over clutching can lead to failure. i recommend spec, but i dont recommend a clutch that has a high rating and not have anywhere near the power to need it. the marcel of the clutch is set for a reason, and is wise to go by it. thats my professional opinion.

I have a spec clutch and what my installer recommended to me was to get on the highway as much as possible and shift between 4th and 5th rather often for the break in period. And i just took a trip from D.C. from Va Beach and back and my clutch was fine afterward. I wasted a tad bit of gas though

they do take some time to break in... but i think youll be fine with a stg 2... if not look at the stg 2+, i think a stage 3 (puck style) is a little much unless you have a pretty mean machine... the stage 2 has Kevlar segments... i also think that the way a stage 3 or higher is designed to "grab" (puck style) that they tear up flywheels... as said before dont over clutch (and a stage 2 is rated to over 500ftlbs and if you are running a stock block thats more then your bottom end can handle!)

StangAddiction, my stock clutch is going in my DD 03 Cobra and I've been debating on a Centerforce dx or a Spec Super twin clutch. As I said, it is a Daily driver. Around here in VA there can be traffic everywhere . Which do you think would be better for these conditions? I've driven an 04 Cobra with a centerforce and it required very little pedal effort (it was a DD with a little over 500 rwhp). On the other hand, I've driven another 03 with 760 rwhp with a Spec Super Twin and it definitely felt like more effort was required (that was at the track and it wasn't a DD). Any suggestions would be appreciated!
