The stock 5.0 blocks are only good for 500rwhp regardless of what pistons, rods, and crank you run. So you need a new $3000.00 after market block. Then you would still need to forge the internals, and all the machine work involved. Plus then you'll need after market heads and cams, plus a power adder just to break 450. The stock heads and intake flow for crap on the 5.0's

My shortblock was 3200 shipped to my door, and ready to install. I made 516 on the stock heads and intake.
That's the pushrod 5.0 not the 4.6 stroker 5.0 or the 4.6 big bore 5.0.
