GSR stock internals @ 20psi?
One of my employees wants to race me. I ask him what he drives blah blah blah. He says he runs 20lbs. on stock mitsubishi internals. Is that possible?
I didn't think they would handle that kind of boost. What does everyone else think?

You see people running 20psi with stock internals in the terminators.
the same may hold true for the gst or gsx. |

Well I'm not too savvy on GS this or XY that..... But the terminators have forged internals built for that kind of pressure. I don't know anything about mitsu's, but I'm guessing that they aren't forged.

While your assuming things, I never said that we were street racing or wether or not I was going to race him at all. If you really need to know, for your own well being, he actually suggested a certain track, where people can race, legally, that is pretty close to where I live. |

there is a guy i work with that has a gs-t spyder and he is nothing. he is boosting 18psi, stock turbo, turbo back exhuast, CAI, aftermarket intercooler w/ all new piping, BOV, lightweight wheels. no matter from a stop, roll, uphill/downhill, etc, the eclipse (itsy bitsy spyder) is my little bitch. they will handle the boost with colder plugs and a tune would help but not necessary. it wont last to long but is possible on a stock turbo with stock internals. the volume of the stock turbo is what makes it possible, a larger turbo (t-4& up) w/ 20psi (more volume) would blow the 2.0 to shreds.

Well I learn something new every day. I wasn't really worried about wether or not I could outrun him, just wether or not a stock mitsu motor could handle that much boost. I thought he was being a little bit of a liar for a while. IF i ever race him, I'll try and post the results, with a timeslip.

I have two friends here that run eclipses. One is GS-T which is the 2nd gen FWD turbo. He ran 18 PSI on a stock engine and turbo for a few months until it blew up. Fast as hell until it blew, ran in low 12's. Other friend with a 3rd gen supercharged (after market) who only made it little over a month at 14 psi before blowing up. Moral of the boring story, he might be running 20 psi right now. It can be done, just not for long. But if he is he will be damn quick..

The GSX's can...They run the 4G63...
They are also AWD at 20#'s he should be over 300AWHP (easily considering the other mods he would need to hit 20#'s)...It might be a close race...Unless you spray...Then you will have them... he sounds tricky... Give him a run and see how it goes... |

I'm not too sure on wether or not he knows what he's talking about. He sounds a little like a ricer when you talk to him. But he also said he's planning on changing to a larger turbo, with forged internals. I'll keep everyone updated on it if I race him or not. I've got to hurry up and get this ntrous ready...

How exactly does a RICER sound??? I bet they sound like most MUSTANGERS that hang out here. Are they the ones that can't finish a sentance without the use of DUDE, SWEET or KICK'N?? And have to inject every a curse word into every conversation??

A ricer sounds like the kid that I was talking to about his Eclipse. But I bet he could still beat you in a spelling bee championship.
