04 gt versus z06 vette


okay i need ...well not really me...my buddy needs help...he has a 2004gt ....(i have my beloved 06 gt) ...my boss just bought a z06 vette...all of the motor heads in the office are planning a a bs race (most of know who will win) involving the stock z06, a stock srt8 charger, my kinda modded 06 gt, and the youngest kids 2004 gt...now the kid thinks he can win....is there any way a 2004 gt can beat a zo6 vette (stock zo6) ....what does he need to accomplish this? he thinks he can whip up a turbo setup

no way he can beat him stock for stock if he can whip up a turbo setup and get a good tune he might be able to hang with him

if its a new one then the kid will have pretty much no chance lol

if its a c5 then he could do it with much less than 450 rwhp...i saw a vid of a termi absolutley murder a stock c5 z06. termi was makin 450 rwhp. and a gt would be even lighter.

the z06 is brand new....wrappin paper still on it...maybe has 200 miles on it so far...

kid swears he can do it....anybody got a list of mods he needs...i'll print it out and give it too him for a goof.....this kid certainly doesnt have a bad car...(no v8 mustang is)...but hes still green enough to think that since his car is the loudest of the group, that actually means somethin

Built motor
Stage 3 ported heads
Hitech stage 2 cams(or stage 3 if you're feeling spiffy)
T-56 or built tranny
Spec Stage 3+ clutch
Worked suspension
Stronger rear end setup (31 spline rear axles, 3.73 gears to help get things spooling quicker)
Wider rear tires (315 Nittos)
Hellion hellraiser Twin turbo kit with bigger turbos
Killer tune

That's just a general overview.

Basically a whole new car

haha.. im sure the vette wont stay stock for to long.. tell your boss to throw some long tubes and corsa exhaust on it...and tell that kid he needs to look on youtube at 2008 vettes running in the quatermile..

theres somebody on here that ran a 10.9 with stock internals and an s/c

antoher ran 11.99 with a 100 shot/catback/gears/slicks/cai/shifter

he CAN will but hes going to have to spend ALOT of money...forged internals and a big shot of nitrous would be a nice start...
