About to throw at match at it.

My car keeps stalling while under heavy acceleration. Plus missing and holding back occasionally under light load.

I had the codes pulled today and this what I got
PO352 Coil B ignition coil B primary/secondary malfunction
PO353 Coil C ignition coil c primary/secondary malfunction
PO354 Coil D ignition coil d primary/secondary malfunction
PO358 Coil H ignition coil h primary/secondary malfunction

I know it's related to the coil packs, but I doubt 4 are going bad all at once. Also what's meant by secondary malfunction?

My car has been such a PIA this year I have almost given up on it please help me.

Considering there are 3 codes on one bank and one on the other, I would say either you have 4 bad coils, bad computer, or a short in the wiring harness somewhere. Don't quote me, but I think the secondary circuit is before the coilpack and the primary circuit is from the coilpack to the plug. Good luck getting her fixed.

Either way whatever it is you aught to get new cop,s

I read on google from a person with an expedtion threw the same same, they changed cops and it ran better but still threw code, so they changed plugs and it turned out #7 wasnt making contact with the plug so after new plugs it ran perfect

Jive, i know how you feel... If i take a break from the car, about a week, the energy to get it fixed comes back.

But i would be looking into new Cops and if that doenst help then probably a ECU going bad from all those times its been and out with that chip

Sorry to only post part of your quote, but that is really what im thinking. Sounds like that PCM is getting extremely flakey. Especially after all the other problems with it you have had.

or another thing could be you have a seriously jacked up wiring harness. I really gotta find my ford cd and find if all of those are on the same bank

wanted to add this...

Do you have a multi-meter? Specifically an Ohms meter (omega symbol, looks like a horseshoe)? If you do, I can look at the pin out and tell you where to check on the wiring harness.

Yeah I have a multi meter.

Well I had one cop off a different motor on coil #8/H. I replaced it and so far it seems fine. I think it might have missed a little once on the way back home but no dying during acceleration. Could a coil pac shorting out cause the others to throw a code?

I also put in 2 Aviator fuel pumps in my cobra set up yesterday, and I'm throwing a P0190 which is a fuel rail pressure sensor malfunction at start up.
Pretty sure it's because of a fuel pressure spike at start up.

I earlier removed the PPRV (postive pressure relief valve), pulse dampner (silver disc near yje fuel rail), and added a bigger line from the fire wall to the fuel rail utilizing a Russel -An to ford EFI fitting. There's a huge difference between the stock fittind and the Russel. If you try to blow through the pprv or the pulse dampner it almost impossible.

Lot of restriction

Stock fuel rail fitting VS Russel fitting

PPRV

Sorry 'bout the quote thing...

The primary of any transformer is where the power goes in, the secondary is where it goes out. So for our COPs the primary is the low voltage side ("before" the COP) and the secondary is the HV side, "after" the COP.

---------------------------
To the OP,

Here's is what the '03 shop manual says about P0351 through P0360.

I would check out the wiring before buying any COPs.

It isn't dying anymore. But it still holding back once in a while at part throttle and little load. It sounds kind of fluttery ( can't think of a better world) if I punch it all at once it pops and goes away?

actually it sounds kind of like a bad EGR valve. usually if it sounds like a fuel problem but theres no problem with the fuel parts then its an EGR problem.

I got this reply from another site.

Guess what it was? The fricking MAF, just like candyandchrome mentioned. By the way, I had the stock ignition like you. Good luck with that, hope you get it taken cared of soon.

Well I removed the extended wire that I added to the maf harness when It use to be in the fender and all seems good so far. I took it to interstate and went to redline in 2nd, 3rd and 4th about 3 times, There was no dying, holding back, and no melted electros like it did at the track. But I'm sure the last one was also helped when I replaced the Cobra pumps with Aviators

did you use a pigtail or did you solder in more wiring to extend the MAF cable?

Both a new pig tail and extra wire.

Well I spoke to soon. Went out today and it started holding back again at light load and low rpm, I wish I could find some one to borrow a SCT 2400 maf off of to see if it's the problem.
