Things to know about the 03 cobra?

Well I’m thinking of getting a 03 cobra when I get back in September of 07. I just wanted to know some things about them. What are some pros and cons of the cobra? I was thinking about also get a 2.8 kenne bell and a better fuel and intercooler. I was hoping of doing this and getting in the 11’s and having a nice daily driver. I’m going to use mega squirt for the computer set up. Just wanting to know what numbers I can make with this set up and 20 to 30 psi of boost. Any help. Thanks

20-30 psi are gonna require some internal engine mods. IMO the screw type blowers build boost quick but put off too much heat. don't get me wrong i love the cobras but i just like starting with a GT and adding what i want, kinduva "blank canvas". if i had it to do all over again i would go with a turbo setup. and the IRS are upgradeable to handle that kind of pwr but solid axles are better for drag racing and easier to upgrade.

just my 2 cents

Yea I know about the internal parts. I'm just thinking about the cost and power I'll get. But on the other hand. I was thinking about puting that money in my 93, and making a 93 cobra clone(built to the teeth). If I put that money in my 93 I think I could have a badass car.

with the 03 cobra you woundt need to do the internals. they come with forged stuff from the factory so.......... really no need. i dont know why youd need to do the mega squirt stuff either. the stick computer will be able to tune anything youll ever throw at it

why spen a couple grand fixing it when its fine stock. there are people running over 800-900 rwho on a stock bottem end. and why change form the stock computer whens its just gonna be much more expnsive and harder to tune and its not going to do a damn thing for you, but cuase a lotta problems. i just dont understand why youd spend the money if the stock computer will do more than you ro i will ever need to do.

u wouldn't want to run 20-30 psi on a daily driver, the 03-04 cobra engines are extremely strong but that much psi would be too risky if used as a daily driver also

just get a smaller pulley for the blower and run 12-15 psi, Ive heard several times that that much psi is really safe for a daily driver terminator

I highly recommend getting a 03-04 cobra, I love mine

I think this might be an old topic cuz it was at the bottom of the page in related topics, oh well, hopefully the starter will still see it
