vibration from tranny at high speeds?
I noticed at about 90 plus mph i feel a strong vibration coming from the trans. I checked my wheels balanced my driveshaft and cant find anything wrong. does anyone els have this problem please tell me how to fix it.
My friend has a the same problem with his GT. we both have alot of hard mielage on our cars. is there a bearing or something that can go bad in the tranny that becomes a common problem plz help. |

im sure it aint your tranny, its either your driveshaft or tires not balanced.. could be from locking lug nuts too... but probably your driveahaft. weve all had this problem

a lightweight aluminum ds would probably help, but when you say 'checked your wheels,' does that include the air pressure and balancing?

could be a loose pinion, tranny mounts, unbalanced drive shaft. Also if you tuned you vehicle and you advanced your spark plug timing all the way it may cause your engine to vibrate under accel. but you say it only occurs at 90 mph so you might be able to disregard that. Also tire balancing and air pressure. That's all I can think of right now

might be your reverse lights. when it starts vibrating have someone ride behind you to see if the reverse lights come on when you throw it in reverse. if they come on then it's your driveshaft. if they don't come on then it's your tranny mount. hope this helps.

check your rear upper and lower control arm bushings if they are worn out it will make the rear vibrate at certain speeds i just found that out with my car.

Check you driveshaft bolts I had some come a loose on me after my tranny swap and a couple of weeks later I noticed a good vibration at higher speeds. So I tightend them back up again and it did it again so then I lock tightend them and they have came loose yet
