U joints goin bad?

So I got the s/c about a month ago and now when I let off the gas during normal driving just to and from work I get a bucking motion. There no unusal engine noises but there is some noise from the tranny due to the bucking. Its not too serve but definately noticeable and usually only last for a second or so. I think I remember this being symptom of bad u joints but Im not sure. If it is how can I confirm it.

Yeah i notice it in 5th, or any gear at lower rpm. It seems to occur when ever the torque applied is at the low end.

are you sure thats not the normal transmission noise? they normally make some clunks and clicks when getting on and off the gas because of the necessary clearances in the transmission

the clunks and clicks come with the bucking. Its seem a lil much for gettin off the gas.

i had the problem, so i said fuck it and changed to poly mounts on the tranny and motor, stopped the bucking, but you still can hear the clutch beat around inside the tranny. kinda scary

Ive never gone up hill in 5th at 40, but at lower rpm i notice th problem alot.

RC with the poly mounts do you get any more vibrations in the car?

its not how people make it out to be, when you accelerate you dont feel it, at idle its minimal, and the tranny mount cleared up my shifting problem. when i ran the car before, when i hit the clutch the dmn tranny would smack around left and right. fuckin ridicoulous, i had enough with it and fixed it. dont regret it. The motor mounts was choice for me, just one less thing down the road. Id recommend them, more for tranny then anything.

u-joints arnt that expensive compared to alot of things, if you think thats what it is then change them. maybe try and grease it and see if it helps. if there is ANY play in the u-joint change it. there should be none at all

Mustang tansmitions build up slack after hard driving and especially launching. The only way to tighten up the slack for good is getting a new tranny. if not plz let me knoe another way to fix this problem.

SVT...thanx I gotta send my blower to get rebuilt it makin some bad noises so well thats away Ill get under and check it out.

RC...If theres any play at all Im ordering a aluminum driveshaft, They arent too expensive either.

Vince...Im hopin its not the trany, theres not noise from normal driving just when the speed between the wheels and engine varies while its in gear. The car only has 40K on it and I dont beat on it. Hopefully its not the tranny cuz if it is it wont last long with the blower.

Just switch to a lower gear. Sounds like a worn or out of adjustment clutch trying to power thru too high of a gear at too low of a speed under load.
