Ported heads

ok so im doing the PI swap on my 96, but i was gunna just do the cams and intake but now im thinking if the engines apart i might as well port out the heads, how much would it cost for me to port out a set of heads,im doing all the engine work but if i were to send them out somewhere how much would it cost, and im planning on porting the NPI heads one cuz everyone says they work awesome ported and two i allready own them and im a cheap bastard. also would it be worth doing if i were going to run the PI cams or is it only worth it to upgrade the cams????? thanks

Have the NPI heads ported...And then upgrade the cams while you ahve it all out...

Go with a set of VT Cams, Caomp Cams, or some Nice MPH Cams...After the headporting and such you will be very happy...

With cams and all a great porting and polishing job and cams will run you around $1700 or so (im shooting high)...But it is well worth it...

why port the npi heads. even when ported to the most they are barely going to outflow a set of pi heads stock

im not sure, im not arguing cuz i dont know shit but alot of guys have told me after the NPI heads are ported they flow awesome... not just guys on this board but people in general a guy at the tuning shop i go to told me that he had a set of npi heads worked over big time and he had them puting out more then the same car with stage II patriots... now im not saying this is fact all just hearsay i have heard, thats why i am asking but for 1500 why would i have mine done i could get stage II heads of ebay for that much? is it true that PP PI/NPI heads make more hp then stage II after market heads?

There really is not that much of a difference in the heads...I ahve been told with porting the stock heads can outflow the PI heads...Plus it keeps his compression ratio in better standings for a poweradder...
