he will beat you. make it an 1/8th mile race and you could have a shot but once they start breathing they run like a race horse on steroids

I had a '99 Camaro SS and the best race I had vs. a Mustang was against an '01 Cobra with some mods. He took me off the line but by 60mph we were side by side and at 100 I had almost a full car length on him. My top end was 170mph too although I didn't get it up there in the race, I quit at around 130 and was about 2 car lengths on him. The LS-1's have incredible climbing speed once they hit around 50-60mph.

yea what he said. you might get a jump on him but they are ungodly powerful up top even when they are stock. just throw some mods at your car and take it to him

LS1/LS2 Camaro's and Firebirds are good for mid 13's stock with a good driver...12's with minor mods...

my 95 Z-28 ran a best of a 13.93, that was with 120k and a it was an automatic. it was pretty much stock too, just some flows and a k&n. they are fast cars and the LS engines are faster

eesh man i dont know, in all honesty i think the ls-1 would edge you out... it would be close but those things fuckin move. i can drive the shit outa my car and i wouldnt have a shot. you might have a shot off the launch but grabin gears is grabin gears its not that hard. who knows you might be able to but I wouldnt put money on it unless you got balls the size of rhode island
PS set of 4:10s would help you win

seriously it wont even be a race. your stang might make a mid 13 sec pass stock if your a really good driver and i have personally driven a stock ls1 transam to a 12.8 second 1/4 so if hes a good driver hyes gonna spank your ass. lsx series of motors are amazing. they are the god of pushrod motors.

yeah a trans am with an ls1 pretty much handed my ass to me...it was pretty bad, I hung with for a little while, but after a certain point he just climbed so much faster than my stock GT could...and by hung with him I mean I was about a car length behind him, and I didn't get any further up on him
