Cobra and GT Internals

What, if any, internal engine parts are interchangable from an 03 Cobra to an 03 GT?

I've heard of people using the crank out of a terminator cobra in 2v cars before.

I think.

I havent done this yet!!! I own a whole rotating assembly out of 03 cobra (forged 8 bolt crank, manley H-beam rods,Mahle -16cc forged pistons) that got damaged during shipping. I have asked everybody and anybody, also looked at specs on sizes of crank, rods, pistons. The resolution is very minor, clearancing of block will accomodate crank (counterweights are a little bigger) and all specs for bore/stroke and rod length are the same. So yes it should. However there is one catch, aftermarket H-beam rods have a choice of 2 wrist pin sizes (cobra has 22mm I believe) so make sure your piston-rod combo sizing matches! FYI 01 1/2 - 04 (8th digit of VIN is X which should designate an 8 bolt crankshaft) Flywheel should also work!

The blocks are the same...Only the cobra has forged internals...

the crank, rods, and pistons will work...

I would switch the pistons out though for a set that are made for your set-up...
