Well it is for a fun factor. But not as a financial one.

Trickflow would be ahead of the game to bring these out. Not only would they have the only aftermarket heads, but they have one of the nicest 2v manifolds too.
Maybe they'll come out with a top end package (TF intake/heads)

Trickflow Twisted Wedge 4.6 2v Cylinder heads
Trickflow Twisted Wedge 4.6 2v Cylinder heads
YOU ARE HERE: HOME 79-04 MUSTANG PERFORMANCE AND RESTORATION PARTS MODULAR ENGINE PARTS 4.6/5.4 CYLINDER HEADS TFS-51910001-CNC, TFS-51910002-CNC
Available the first quarter of 2009! Pre order now!
Twenty years ago, Trick Flow Specialties revolutionized late-model Mustang performance with the introduction of the legendary High Port® cylinder heads, and did it again in 1996 with the release of the innovative Twisted Wedge® heads. In 2009, Trick Flow will revolutionize the Mustang scene once more with the debut of its newest high performance heads--the Twisted Wedge Street/Strip Cylinder Heads for Ford 4.6L/5.4L 2V engines!

The heads feature Trick Flow's patented Twisted Wedge combustion chamber design coupled with an intake valve moved to the opposite side of the camshaft--just like the 3V heads on 2005 and later 4.6L/5.4L engines. The benefit is a dramatic increase in mid-lift airflow, plus increased piston-to-valve and valve-to-bore clearance that allows the use of higher lift cams and larger diameter valves without having to alter the bore size or flycutting the pistons.

Other important features include OE PI (Performance Improved) style intake inlets, Trick Flow's patented Fast As Cast™ intake/exhaust ports that deliver near CNC-ported airflow out of the box, fully CNC-profiled combustion chambers, bulletproof 3/4" thick decks, four-bolt replaceable cam bearing journals, full 3/4"-reach spark plugs (no more blow outs or inserts!), stainless steel 1.840"/1.450" valves, Trick-Alloy powdered metal valve guides, ductile iron valve seats, lightweight chromemoly retainers and locks, die-forged locks, dual valve springs good for cams up to .600" lift, and Viton® fluoroelastomer valve seals.

The Twisted Wedge Street/Strip heads fit all 1996-2004 4.6L/5.4L 2V Romeo and Windsor engines (no modification of the oil passages in the block required) and all OE-type 2V camshafts, followers, lash adjusters, and valve covers bolt right on. Furthermore, 8mm end holes in the heads ensure that most OE Ford front covers will fit, too.

Twisted Wedge Street/Strip heads for PI engines have 38cc combustion chambers and deliver approximately 10:1 compression on a stock short block. Heads for non-PI short blocks have 44cc combustion chambers and also deliver about 10:1 compression. Bare cylinder head castings are also available.

Based in Akron, Ohio, Trick Flow Specialties offers products that provide "Ultimate Bolt-On Performance." Trick Flow's product lines include cylinder heads, intake manifolds, camshafts, valvetrain components, and more.

Keep in mind that the Mustang Shop is in Canada. US retail is $1995.00 for these heads. The part number says CNC at the end because the combustion chambers are CNC'd.

Ok so lemme get this straight, from what ive been reading the stock head design doesnt allow for very good cam specs because its just restrictive.... If thats right, then the biggest gain potential of new heads then would be more aggressive cam specs.... but if all the current cams fit the current heads.... then arent they all a waste of the real potential??

I think people will be surprised by how much the new edge aftermarket will really take off now with everyone already owning them, and the economy the way it is...
