275/40/17 On Front?
Ok I'm running on the stock 17s. Will a 275/40/17 tire fit on the front and not rub? I know it will fit on the wheel but will it rub in the front?

Have you ran them up front? I'm kind of hoping someone with personal experience will chime in and say "You'll be fine I run them" statement.

They won't rub or anything but the sidewalls will bulge a bit which will hurt handling.
I would keep the stock 245/45 up front and go 274/40 out back.

I would step up from the 274's to the 275's, though. The 274's are extremely hard to find.

Well I want to go with the same size tire all around so when the rears get worn I can send those suckers up front and vice versa.

i would stick with 245/45's on stock 17x8's up front, if it were a 17x9 then i would recommend the 275/40's.
the 275's on 17x8's will bulge thus making the fronts look retarded, imo.

i had 275 on my gt wheels and they rubbed the inner "frame" rail at full lock. My car was also lowered on steeda springs.
Oh and a 275 will want to follow the cracks/warn spots in the road a lot more than a 245. It gets rather annoying after a while. Road crown and worn out roads will only make it worse. Here in oklahoma both are bad and make driving lowered cars a PITA some times. |
