Fuel pump don't fit right?
I ordered a Procharger from RPMoutlet and got half of the stuff today. The plugs, injectors, and sct tuner were no problem to put in, the fuel pump has got me all over the place though. I took the tank down, pulled the assembly, and went to put ion the new walbro pump and when i got to it it looked totally different than stock. I had to strip the walbro down to the pump only, put the stock old stuff back on, and it all fit OK. The pump is a little smaller than the last so it was kind of an ackward fit. Anyways I had a few questions.
It's a 1999 GT
1) The walbro came with one hose coming out of the top of it as where the stock had one coming up also, but there was a return to keep circulation going inside the tank. My question is do I hook it up like the old one is exactly with the return, or hook it straight in to the main? My guess would be to hook it up like stock so there is some type of internal return since 99 and up had returnless pumps.
2) I was looking for the best way to hook the wiring up in the tank. Are semi-exposed wires connecting directly th the fuel pump ok, or do I need to cover the metal connection sites completely?
3) Last, do I need a fuel pressure regulator on my non-return stlye mustang, or is that a necessity?
Sorry for the long post but I've been scratching my head at this fuel pump for a while. Anyways, thanks for listening.
