Ha who really goes that fast? I've hit 144 in mine with 4:10 gears and could have gone faster, but I'm worried about tire blowout at that point.

why slow your car down if you don't know how to drive, learn how to drive and keep the 4.10's. You guys are killing me.

Yeah I agree, We got plenty of top end it's our launches that usually blow. The 5.0's in my club drill me off the line all the time even with less hp. That's why I'm getting the 4.10's installed. There mayeven be a 2600rpm stall Torque Converter in my future as well. hehe

My car isn't supercharged but will be running a 125 shot of nitrous. Should I get 3.73's or 4.10's?

he is saying that if ur stupid enough to be going more than 150 MPH on public roads then get the 3.73s, but if ur just looking for something to put ur ass in the back seat when u jump on it get the 4.10's

its a ratio, it doesnt all of the sudden have some dramatic jump of high speed loss just between 3.73s and 4.10s. You will keep losing the more of a low gear you go. Even if you switch from 3.08s to 3.55s you will lose high speed. It's the rules of gear reduction.

actually the 4.10 should still top out at 170-175 if you had the power, nobody should be going over 150 in a mustang anyway, unless your some kind of autocross racer or something... or your running 8's

so basically if your concerned about mileage keep your stock gear.. if you want a little pick up w/o loosing much highway economy get a 3.73. If you want to have a faster car, dont care about losing 2-3mpg get a 4.10

Just to let you guys know, my first tank of fuel with 4.10's averaged 20 mpg.... I am taking it as easy on the car, and thats better on fuel then I got stock.

dude i doubt you have the power to top your car out anyways, quit worrying about top speed, you fucking kids are driving me nutz. You are going to kill someone and then make all us real enthuesiests look bad cause you are being a fucking dumb shit. You know if you are worried about top speed go buy some 2.90 gears and go top your car out and run it off a cliff with you in it.

I've hit 144 in my '99 GT stick... but at that point the stick started vibrating like crazy. What's the point of going any faster than that? It's crazy. Blow a tire and you're DONE.

I'll probably never go that fast again... I don't see the point in it. The only reason I went that fast was because I had a mile and a half straightaway with no cars as far as the eye could see and I wanted to see how fast I could run.
