you can also get a speed cal which is a cheaper way if you can't afford a tuner.

Yeah, I was thinking it was something like that, but since I plan on buying some kind of tuner, I think that will work. The tuners must be the thing that recalibrates the speedo..

How much higher will 4.10's raise your rpms on a 2000 GT, lightly modded. And how much lower will it make your top speed?

Top speed isn't gonna go down, as the stock gearing is gonna put you way higher than what the car's capable of anyways. In fact, top speed will probably go up switching to 4.10's as you'll be higher in the powerband where you'd need it to keep accellerating. At any rate, at 70mph in 5th gear you'd probably be around 2600 rpm's. In my 2002GT I'm at 2400rpm at 70 but my overdrive is a tad smaller than yours.

So i'm guessing it raises your rpms around 3-400 or so?

It seems like I lost a small amount of gas mileage with JLT cai, and C&L plenum. I know it can't be heavy right foot syndrom... Also, I heard FRPP is using Motiv gears, just what I heard

If I run the posted speed (no matter what everybody else is doing) this tank I got 22mpg and about 295 miles to a little over 13 gallons. Hell, I wish I had gone w/ 4.30's............................................ .............................................
Now if I could somehow squeeze a 30 gallon tank in place of the stocker Id be set

I know with the 4.10s your engine is working less as hard as with let's say 3.27s. That will help in fuel economy...

Even though your rpms are higher? If Im running 75 my rpms are a little over 2500 and at 55 they are just under 2000rpm. If no expert on mechanics but I cant see how your engine is working easier with 4.10's.

yep even at higher rpms. installing a steeper gear set puts more torque down. it doesn't add any just gets it to the ground better. there for your engine works less to keep a higher rpm.
