Will a clutch make a difference?

I have a stock gt, i can get a Spec Clutch Stage Two 11"/ 4.6 GT and i was wondering if a) 356$ US is cheap, and b) if it will make a difference, or just help in supporting more torque?
thanks

It probably isnt really worth the investment right now. In the long run later if you go on and upgrade and produce more power but where your at now you'd be cool with just your stock, spend it on something else cool...

Got Gears yet?

If you are doing mild build I would go with the stage 1.

i dont have gears yet, labour here is a bitch. so itll end up costing me more for that than the product itself and apparently they're difficult to install right,

Not difficult, just has to be done right, if you don't have the
confidence that you understand the dimensions and process,
you're better off not doing it. However an experienced person can do the job in 45 min. to an hour.
Also most shops will charge out the nose to install parts they don't sell,
if you can get them to do it at all. Do you go to the meat market and buy a
T-Bone and take it to a restaurant to have them fix it for you?

Hmm. Labor on gears is seriously going to be around, 300-400.

That's just how it has to be. Sadly... it's worth it.

No clue, but I'm telling you. Regardless of the labor rate (because AVG gear install is an hour or less)

If you have high milage make sure you get the Master Bearing Kit, so they can't charge you triple for it (you can find it on sites like AmericanMuscle)

All in All, it's going to run you 300. It usually just finds a way.

I know what you're saying, I was actualy trying to point out that if you buy the gears from a shop and have the installed there it can cost less than mail order gears + shop labor from someone that made zip on the sell of the parts.

Yeah, but at the same time, around here I can't find many shops that sell the gears. Lucky for me, a friend of mines husband works at a Ford-Mercury-Lincoln dealer, so I get the hookup.

I did order the FRPP 4.10's myself, I like them better than the other 4.10's i have in my other stang, which claim to be just as good.

I guess I some times take it for granted that I live in Central Indiana,
lots of speed shops.

Hmmm see,

Gears cost me 240. (FRPP) and then, the install would of been 300. Brinding me up to about 540 or 500.

However, I just paid nothing for the install and got the gears and bearing kit for about 300.

I do all my oun work so I forget how much it cost to have alot of this stuff
done.
But if you bring me parts from some one else I'll charge more labor every time.
