how long are batteries lasting for yall

i think its about time to replace the battery in my stang. its starting to crank pretty slow. about how long do your guys' batteries last? mine is the original.

I would replace it with an optima.

Mine lasted till this past spring. I'd replace it before it strands you (like it did me)

imo optima sucks ASS i throw them away EVERY day because once you kill one they will never hold a good charge or amperage again but if you dont ever kill them... yea great lol

i have the original battery from 03.. still alive and kickin

mine lasted about 7 years. i replaced it last year with an Optima Red Top. i'm pretty sure they come with lifetime warranties, so IMO, there's really no reason to just throw one away if it craps out...

+1 Mine went out last year miles from home. I had to get a jump start and directions to the nearest Autozone. I changed the battery in their parking lot at 9:45 at night in order to get home.

im a mechanic in the military and all of our support equipment uses red tops.. i hate the damn things. have you ever seen a battery swell up like a balloon and start hissing? i haven't either until we started using red tops lol

I have, but these were cell phone batteries.

oh it wasn't my battery. I was a tech at verizon. I got tons of swollen batteries in, we would spin them like tops. It aint good if a cell phone battery hisses since it doesn't have vents. One guy had his battery start to melt his phone and burned his ass.

just a little FYI for you guys;
FoMoCo puts the cheapest brand of Motorcraft battery in from the factory and they are only a 12 month battery, so if you get 3 years or more outta' one, consider yourself lucky.....

Lol it's not verizon it's just the battery. I've only seen that once, but people don't take care of their batteries so it bites them in...err...burns them in the ass. Can happen to anyone with any phone.

my orig. battery lasted for about 6 years,my second battery now is not holding a charge as long as it used to.My car sits alot and it drains the battery,if I get a deep cycle it might work better.Just don't let your battery fully drain and it will last a lot longer

My battery is about to be 6 years old. The car came off the line in March 03 even though it's an 02...

It's still running strong and haven't had a problem yet. (knocks on wood)
