Cracked Lower Control Arm Bushings

EDIT: I ment to say cracked lower control arm bushings.

The rear end seemed to keep making a clanging noise and I couldn't determine where it was coming from. Check the Lower control arms and I find out they are all completely trashed. The bolt was riding directly on the steel part of the arm.

Called MMR and they sent me brand new bushings for free and even payed for shipping. After hearing all the MMR horror stories I thought they would do anything for me, anyways heres a few pics of what happened.

Took a razor blade and cut the bushing even with the metal and then took a punch and rubber mallet and banged it out of place.

how do you like those MMR control arms? According to what I have been hearing the poly bushings will still allow binding. So in order to really reign in the back end you have to go to a spherical bearing on one side or both sides. Can anyone confirm this? Also, is there a way to make the quadshocks fit with coilovers? I had to yank mine due to clearances which made axle hop a big problem haha

that's what I've heard, they have an obvious benefit though, wish I could use them... oh well, control arms should do fine without them

one thing you need to check:
1999 up Mustangs use 14mm hardware to mount the lower control arms, where 1979 to 1998 only used 12mm hardware.....
now the lower control arms are pretty much the same from 1979 to 2004, excecpt for the ID of the bushings and sometimes the companys that sell those arms include the hardware thats 12mm instead of the 14mm bolts & nuts that are used on 1999 to 2004 and that 2mm smaller diameter bolt could have caused this, so I'd get new 14mm hardware from the dealer....

+1 i didnt even realize they werent there...

also, on the 12mm vs. 14mm bolt issue...if they sent you the 12's by mistake, dont try to use them for a temporary fix... wait on the 14's (or buy some)

its obvious if you try to use the 12mm bolt in the 14mm hole... my brothers cobra had 12mm bolts in the front of the IRS and everytime he would accel/decel it had a loud pop from where the bolt was moving around in the oversized hole

ok but not the best choice for a D/D and your gonna' have alot more maintenance wth those along wth more NVH, a need to have your TQ boxxes weled-up and you'll have to keep tabs on the rear pinion angle....

Ehh doesnt bother me, I do DD the car but I don't have far to go with it. The TQ boxes will be welded up as soon as I finish my intercooler set up since i'm gonna have to rent the welder

I've heard nothing but good from baseline suspension products (my buddies fox was a test dummy for some of their stuff)

its going to be a little more on the noisy side though
