Exhaust Stupidity?

Yes. I have gotten all my other work done so far, except a new exhaust. Which reminds me, and Exhaust is very important in turning the rare breed of mustang into a true beast.

Problem: I know jack squat about exhaust. I have an SLP LMII kit on my other stang and i love it, sounds great. I know nothing about it, but it sounds great. I like SLP products thus far. I been looking at some exhaust kits and all and thus I've decided I need headers and a midpipe... though, well... what I am thinking is...

http://www.americanmuscle.com/slpheaders.html
(Mustang Coated SLP LT Headers)

http://www.americanmuscle.com/slpxc99.html
(Mustang SLP Catted X Pipe)

http://www.americanmuscle.com/slpexhaust.html
(Mustang SLP LoudMouth II Exhaust Kit)

Would the three of those work and suffice as a proper exhaust? Or am I messing something up?

I need advice before I buy anything.

Thats a damn good setup, but alot of money. you could go with MAC longtubes and midpipe with the SLP mufflers and still have a good sound but cheaper price. Do you have emissions testing or do you just want cats?

Thanks for the reply man actually no in VA no emissions testing, the only thing I was worried about is I have heard that if I ditch the cats it will sound like crap and have a raspy busted up pickup sound? is that true? because personally, thats the only reason I am keeping the cats because I want a serious mature sound not a cheap sound?

if you want a deep sound go with a h pipe.the x will sound good but they tend to be a little raspy just depends what you like. i personally wouldnt go with macs.they are cheap for a reason.if you are tryin to save money i would go bbk. a lot of people run them and love them

No i have the money to go SLP. Plus, i love SLP. So... don't do an X do a H to get a more deep serious sound? I want it to be LOUD though, just not crappy loud.

+1 about the H pipe. yeah MACs are cheap but its what came on my car and i love them. SLPs can get a bit raspy, but if you got an off road H and didnt like it, i am sure you could sell it pretty easy! But the H will definitely not make it a raspy (they just lose a few ponies, but not noticeable)

Sounds like a good setup. Remember, you get what you pay for. Deleting the cats will definitly make it louder. Won't really make it any raspyier. An X will be a little more rasy then an H but you get more power out of the X. Depends on your application.

I have Stainless Works headers, no cats, X pipe, into turbo back mufflers and absolutely love it. Decently loud cruising around. Insanely loud at WOT. I still get a SEG every time I hammer on it! There is video of the car on the stainless works website.

Yeah I've always loved the sound of the SLP LMII's. Not sure why. I just do.

Make sure to get a SHORTY midpipe if you get those Longtube headers. Or it wont fit.

hmmm i dunno man, everyone still says its pretty fooking loud, but like i said i had LoudMouth I and that was the loudest thing ive ever heard, probably only cut-outs were louder than that,hehe!!...but i say yeah, theyre still louder than most setups, except maybe Magnapacks.

but heres the setup that convinced me to switch to LM2...
