Cold Air Intakes

Ok, so for my first mod, i was thinkin about gettin a cai. I was looking at american muscle and they have one that is $85 and the rest are like 200+. Will the cheap one get the drop done? or is it really worth it to get a name brand cai and pay $250.
Thanks

go with jlt if u can get it fairly cheap and if u cant just get a K&N drop in filter its not gonna make much of a difference.

Manufactures advertised hp are way off from real. Drop in filter wont give you 13 hp. But if your hurting for money might as well do that. Wont be a CAI but will give you a little extra pep.

Give us the link the to cheap one?

your best bet is to get a used intake off a forum somewhere. there are plenty of them around, people get superchargers and take them off. i got a used K&N intake off the corral forums for 125 shipped, ran it for a year, then ended up selling it on craigslist for $150.

I would wait and save up for something nice. I just prefer namebrand stuff on my car. I know some things work just as well, but most the time you honestly get what you pay for and most of those cheap intakes fall apart or the filter comes apart and gets sucked into your motor a little at a time. If you want something right now and don't want to spring for the real deal, I would get something used or a drop-in, as previously mentioned.

Not the best first mod, but if you want your eng bay to look pretty, then go for it. Just take your 55 bucks and buy a drop in K&N until you can save money for a good CAI. You'll get the same results as a cheap CAI, if not better, IMO.

Ram Air kit isnt in the finder well. It sits in the stock filter location.
