Blackout Lens Covers

I live in the state of virginia and i am really actually wondering if blackout headlight and tailight covers are legal. They look really sharp and vicious on a stang but... they seem like something that would be illegal.

Anyone know?

You should look up the laws in your state regarding that issue. I live in Massachusetts and some of the lens covers are legal depending on how dark they are. I used to have "legal" ones on my '87 Camaro, but I got pulled over for it anyways. I like the look too, but I think they attract too much negative attention from cops to make it a worthwhile investment.

Yeah I'd have to agree, especially with the overly loud ass exhaust I am about to stick on.

Used to live in Richmond...

One of my buddies has a 99 Z28 with completely black headlight housing covers and never had a problem.

I think it's because the cops like muscle way more than rice, though.

Lmao Muscle before Rice. I agree.

And Panty Hose? Hah. I'm not even going to spend the money on blackout lens covers now.

Cops don't need a reason to pull you over. (contrary to common belief) I have been pulled over for blackout lenses, dirty license plate, stock exhaust being too loud, and my favorite, "what are you doing driving around tonight?" I don't drive like an ass either, not much into street racing, just like to have a nice machine. And cops don't particularly care if it's rice or good old fashioned muscle. They don't discriminate.

Horribly not true. They do so discriminate. Some have dignity, around here though... Not many.

+1 , especially here in the commonwealth they hate ricers, i used to have a turbo 99 civic SI just for shits and giggles and i got pulled over a hell of alot of times, but with my 99 gt and 89 gt they dont hassle me and they are alot louder then the civic, and i wasnt driving like an ass with the civic either, but what 04PONY says is true also, i guess its just where you are at
