Great - looks identical so why pay 3 times as much? We bring balls out racing down to an affordable level.

By ripping off all their R+D work? Sometimes i'd rather pay 3x more to support the designer vs some guy that took their part to china to have an exact copy made.

You sounded like Zalinsky from Tommy Boy here!!! "I make parts for the American working man, because that's what I am, and that's who I care about"!!!! I like UPR parts. Cheap (price) and work well for street use.

UPR is a great Company - their K-member is a drag race part not a beat the street part.

Again - not looking for trouble. It has long been our position that GMS was selling K-members before anyone else, We were then knocked off by UPR and QA1. We merged with Griggs for a while and used a Griggs upgraded design. Then that ended so we came out with yet another design which got copied by 2 more companies. Along the way a pile of other jumped into the mix and MM was one of them. There are a ton of choices out there and we help everyone regardless of what part they run.

i a neutral person, i been running gms parts for years without any complaints. i like the other companies as well, but i like to be different and show that you dont have to go join the large advertisement crowd. there are things you cant skimp on when it comes to certain parts, but there are things people dont have to jump to conclusions about with certain name brands.

If I had the dough I would go for the MM.....jus my personal preference though as I have no products from either MM or Granatelli. I will be (hopefully) gettin some MM parts soon though. Those two K's arent exactly alike...look deeper....the MM has more material around the motor mount stands along with a few other subtle differences. Im not 100% sure where MM parts are made but is it true that GMS stuff is produced overseas? I hear alot more good about MM than I hear about GMS in general.
Joe: what kind of a rig do you have to hold the motor up with no k member under it? I was planning on picking up my motor with a motor lift/cherry picker and dropping the k member out from under it to install my headers next winter...this should work huh?

when my dad and I put a block heater in my car this past winter, we ended up having to drop the K (long story) and we just supported the motor on some hydrolic jacks

Yes our K-members are made in India. We save so you save. We are still an American company selling American parts. Some are just made other places. But think about this…You will find more “Americana” in a new Toyota then you will in a GTO, Pontiac G8 and yes the Ford Mustang. Several parts in a Mustang are not made in America – We still all feel there is not much more American then a V8 Ford. I certainly do not want to down play the pride we all should have in our Country but be real guys, this product has been American perfected and now it is just another part that we make. If it makes you feel better I own 30% of the company that makes the parts for GMS. The easiest way to support the engine is to put a 2 x 4 across the strut towers and use ratchet strap to hold the motor up – then you can work from the bottom with no obstructions |
