transmition went bad:(
i was cruising around 20 and i pushed it hard that it shifted from 4th to 1 and took my foot of the gas and stopped to talked to a friend when i stopped the car was shaking a bit when i later started teh car and moved on i felt like the gears were slipping till i came to a complete stop then i was not able to drive more than 5mile an hour when ever i give it more gas it was like the gear is in N , it doesn't matter if its in 1 or 2 or D , how ever in R the car rever fine with no problem :s
what could be the problem ? is it sum thing hard and expensive to fix? |

 just messing with ya...lol...I don't have room to talk myself though...mines horrible To the OP you might have some major problems? Downshifting out of 4th to 1st is pretty hard on the transmission. You are in overdrive and it's never good to downshift or upshift at WOT from that gear to any gear for that matter, or as you put it "very hard" out of that gear. Being cheap depends on how you look at? Once you diagnosis it as a mechanical failure then it's wise to spend the extra money to beef it up so that you are not in the same boat next time. But you can get used ones pretty cheap from the junkyard.

too expensive....i picked up a 2002 GT that some idiot put into a tree on the passenger door for 2,000. motor and tranny were fine and only had 16,000 miles on it.. thats how i did my swap so cheap. you just gotta look around and you can find pretty much anything.
