Stock spring isolators

So I'm not buying my full coilover suspention next year because of some other things that are on my list as i'm graduating high school and opening the new karate school to teach at. very very busy.

but i really want to get rid of as much 4x4 look as possible. can i just remove the stock spring isolators without doing any other suspenion mods? i've tried searching on this, no luck.

any input greatly appriciated thanks!

I don't see why you couldn't? I would just look for some used lowering springs or buy a cheap set of eBay ones though , you'll only lower the car 1/4" by taking them out and reusing the stock springs.

They won't make noise, but only lower you approx 3/8" in rear and maybe 5/8" up front. Just install a bit of heavy grease at contact points and will be fine.

I agree with others that it probably wouldn't be worth the trouble to do so w/o replacing springs.

i had the same problem. front is perfect...but rear sits high. think i will take out the rear isolators. if that don't work then i'm getting new springs. it drives me crazy.

That's what I did. I was happy with how the front sat. But the rear was a little too high, so I removed the top rear iso. I didn't use any grease or tape...and all is good!

No need to bother with the tape. I ran my car for 20 years w/o the isolators and just a bit of heavy grease in the perches. You will get some additional road noise as it is the spring-pads job to reduce such things.

I had no squeeking or issues for the entire time.
