tuners

Do those tuners you can buy and plug into your car really do anything? Are they worth the money? If so anyone know a good one for the money

depending on what mods you have yes, absolutely. If you don't have many then theres no point. Theres SCT X-cal tuners and a couple other handhelds

Best Mod I've done.

If you have bolt on's a tuner will take advantage of the potential those have to make power. IMO it and the AL D/S are hands down the best mod's i've done

+1, I love mine. I don't know if you have an auto or not, but if you do this should be your first mod. And since you are planning on getting gears in the future you really need one anyway to change your speedo and whatnot. I went with sct and I love the thing and I'm pretty sure everybody else is going to tell you the same thing.

D/S is DriveShaft. Also a great mod.

There are several tuners that people here use,
Trick Tuners is one of the big ones
I personally used Rick @ Amazon Tuning Solutions, it's a mail order but it's a great tune and I'm very please he's tuned a couple of my buddies cobra's and he always does good work

goood for an auto cause you can change shift points and pressure

a tuner is great espcially for an auto, i would recommend you get a handheld that a local shop uses incase u ever need to dyno tune or use there services

Yeah, I'd say it's always a good investment, because you can learn your car better, and even tune it exactly how you'd like. When you have a tuner and chip, you can have people, like Joe at Trick Tuners e-mail you files that you can load into your tuner and then into your car. Plus, as mentioned above, you can do a bunch of things like change your shiftpoints and even correct your speedo like if you put on different tire size.

well if you plan on doing gears just get the tuner when you get the gears. You need the tuner to re-calibrate your Speedo.
