i own a 2001 automatics gt, i have 4.10's,sct xcal3, bbk 78mm throttlebody/plenum,bbk cai, saleen udp, pypes x-pipe, and magnapacks. last night i drove an hour to get home from familys house, then drove another 30 mins to a different city to get some runs in, then ran my car 2 times, then on the way back home i was doing 50mph pulls on the freeway with my friend in his STI, i noticed that for some reson everytime my car shifts from 3rd-4rth it goes into redline and bounces off the rev limited 2 times before shifting, also i notice when going that fast something is vibrating under my car a lot, i ask my friend what he thinks and he said it was my drive shaft, THEN when we are at a light in the city my friend tells me that when my car was shifting from 3rd-4rth a huge cloud of black smoke came out of my tail pipes(hence i was in front the whole time ), and it didnt just happen for a quick second, black smoke would come from my tail pipes for a good 4-5 seconds before stopping,

idk but could it be that the black smoke was just because u were on the rev limiter?

your car could be running rich, do you know your a/f ratio? And that tb and plenum is huge for a n/a bolt on car. I'm not sure about you shifting problem though, did you mess with the shift points while tuning your car??

i beat the STI by 2-3 cars everytime
i was thinking about the tuner but i didnt mess with my shift points at all but i think i might to see if that fixes my problem, its buggin me because i am hesitant to spray now, i can be bouncing of the rev limiter while spraying

you wont be bouncing off the limiter while spraying if you use a window switch

Spray + Rev limiter = Big Problems.

Get a window switch if you dont have one.. you shouldnt be touching the rev limier while on spray..

ok i think i found out the problem it happened again tonight, and i looked under my car and there is oil on the right side and there is some oil on my x-pipe, i think the oil is burning off and that the reason for the smoke, my oil has been leaking a bit but not so much, do you guys think there could be too much pressure building up when my car hits the rev limiter causing it to leak more oil?

Your tune is causing ur shift points to be messed up.. Retune it. and your driveshaft is ur vibration problem.
