Possible Misfire?
Hey guys, well here is what I have. If I am cruising at 40mph on a straight flat good quality road, I can feel the car hesitate every once in a while. On a mile stretch it might hesitate 2 or 3 times. Just a small hesitation that I can feel. Speed/RPM doesnt appear to decrease.
I am not sure if this would be called a misfire, or something else. My check engine light is not on. Is it possible for the computer to throw a code but not show the check engine light? Will a misfire always throw a code? I have only noticed this in the last few months, and was putting it down to my imagination there for a while, thinking it may have been small bumps in the road or something. But I am starting to think otherwise now. Apart from that, the car runs great, including under WOT. I did have the spark plugs changed a few months ago, and it was only after that(not immediately), that I noticed this "hesitation". Could be a coincedence, or may not be. Opinions anyone? It may indeed be that I am an auto hypochondriac lol TIA |

I would check the plugs and make sure that the wires are making a good connections on top of the plugs. Also maybe you need new wires or coil packs? You should be able to take it to any local mechanic and they should be able to check that stuff dirt cheap. If not for free.

I would change the fuel filter. Very easy to do. Just have the back jacked up (if it isnt lowered you might be able to squeeze in) use the fuel line removal too (like 5 bucks for a pack of 5, has every size). Like somebody else said, a cop wire might not be on all the way, so under a bump it wiggles and looses contact, but normally has it. Or the plugs were gaped too big.
