Focus Transmission Problems

I'll start by saying this is not my car.... The vehicle is a 2000 Focus 5 speed. The problem with the car is that it will not shift into any gears while the car is running. If it is started in second gear it can be shifted to third but to no other gears, not even back to second. Also if it is started in gear being a forward gear or reverse it will pull the car with the clutch pedal all the way to the floor, it will also sometimes stall if you hold the brake. The car can be put in any gear with the car not running. The slave cylinder has fluid in it and it has no signs of it leaking from the slave cylinder, however it has leaked from somewhere else but the location cannot be found. I'm lost??? Anyone have any ideas what is wrong with this thing?

What's the fluid level in the master cylinder? I'd refill the fluid and bleed the clutch system first.
