eclipse question

So I finally decided to go with the 1991 gsx. I thought about a stealth and several other cars to buy after my eclipse is gone and sold which it nearly is. The eclipse has a 16g, tiel bov, fmic, and a sheet metal intake. The owner is claiming 320 horsepower. I don't believe it has that much hp but I test drove it and it felt like 320 hp. The only problem with the car is the sheet metal intake. The guy claims that because of the intake he can not put a egr on the car. Now correct me if I am wrong but I should be able to buy a stock intake manifold and put the egr on right?
I need this car to pass echeck.

you can do that, or you cang put an egr on that sheet metal one as well.

I see no reason why you couldn't.

Of course, I'm also not sure why you couldn't ask the seller the same question.
