Update on 06 Xterra X

So after doing the oil change on my xterra it still makes a horrible clanking noise at 1st start-up. I did a flush, let it drain, filled it back up with 5w-30 Lucas Full Synthetic. Running an STP filter. 53xxx on the clock, 4.0L DOHC, AT, 2WD. And nothing funny came out of the oil, just oil. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys

Did you pull a plug and take a look at it to see if it showed signs of anything? Plugs can tell you alot about whats going on.

i will tonight it seems almost like its the #2 and #4? the two middle plugs. idk what to look for tho.

Check out the pictures and description. IDK, it may help. In the back of my Haines book for my Mustang, it shows similar pictures.

spun a bearing?

Is it a rough clanking noise that doesnt go away? Could it be possible engine failure?

i wasn't able to pull them last night, but when i start it up i'll try to get a sound clip of it. and pix as well.

So I finally pulled the plugs last night and they were all different colors! The passenger side plugs were all covered in crap! So I ran to kragen got some new plugs. Gapped them and threw them in and no noise at all. My wife took it around the block and she said it ran smoother and felt stronger. Woot!
