im thinking about getting a 94 vette. it has an LT1 in it and a manual tranny. there is appartently alot of modding to be done to it and has a potential of 400hp with just a few mods.
is this a good base car??? what do u all think?

I'm personally a HUGE fan of that motor... my dad used to have one and it dyno'd at 650 hp with a turbocharger and just a few bolt ons!.. but that said I hate that body style.. I'd rather have that engine in a camaro

i completely agree and it goes against my belief of never owning an ugly car but that motor is so tempting cuz right now i have the pleasure of having the '94 3.8L 140hp engine...
but yea im seeing some at around 8grand which is pretty good considering the potential it has. but yea the c4 body styles were blah...
apparently the LT1 also went in a camaro and a firebird but had different heads or something and those cars for those years are REAL ugly.

i wanted one but im short on money. they can be plenty fast!
the body style like u said of the c4 ...isnt the nicest but who cares. im waiting for the C5 vette to drop in price..might take a while before it hits 10k though

yea i think im deff going to look into it.
my dad has a 75 vette but that was one of the first years of the polution control and it doesnt perform very well at all. i dont know how much it would take to mod it to be competitive but... i guess that could have potential.

i'm a lifelong vette guy.. built two of em w/ my old man.. my mom has a 72' 350/350 hp 4 speed car & it's restored to all stock specs. fun as hell!!

anyways, Chris is correct with that one.. corvettes have had Idependent rear suspension since 1963, & 4 wheel disc brakes since the same time.. these are simple things, yes, but ford didn't put an IRS in their mustang until i believe the 99 Cobra.. anyways, the corvette is way ahead of the mustang engineering wise & are amazing cars with minimal modifications..

the LT1 out of the vette was a great engine. very easy/cheap to get big HP out of. i say if the price is right go for it! C4's have taken a big dip in price lately, thats why i would buy it now.. Corvettes are classics & when the prices drop on them it's only for a short period because they always go back up.. Corvettes always have a market & always sell really easily & usually for a nice chunk of change.. you'll love it, i say go for it!!

aside from the shelby cobra, shelby daytona coupe, and ford GT, i have to admit my favorite car is the new Z06s.. they are beasts

they are easily comparable to $200k ferarri's and has some of the best body styleing of all time.

to be honest the z06 is not even in the same class as mustang anymore at all. IMOthe regular ones are but a few mods and they're smoking cobras the c5s at least
