i have a 66 galaxy 500
hey i have a galaxy 500 i bought it with a 351w in it. it has a 2bbl on it now want to switch it to a 4bbl not doing hci right now so was wondering if i should go with a 670cfm carb or the 770cfm want to do hci later on car can i get away with i bigger carb or will the 770 be to much also witch intake should i go with

I had a 1966 Fairlane 500 one time. Cool ass old car. To answer your question, you can get by with the larger of the two carburetors.

yeah just got the body work done and the int done i dont plan on going over 400hp so from what i found the 770 would just be over kill

Unless you're turning some rediculous rpm, the 670 should be more than enough carb for that motor.

Off topic.......do you have any pictures of the car? I used to have a 66 Galaxie 500 a few years ago. I like those cars.

dont have any yet but as soon as i can get my camera to work i will post some and the 2bbl needs a rebuild so wouldn't it just be better to go with a 4bbl

go with the smaller carb my 351 works well with my 650cfm carb i got a 67 fairlane if you plan to put a bigger cam (higher rpm range) change your converter and rear gears to match go with a edelbrock performer rpm maybe even a torquer but if you are stayin with the stock cam and such say idle to 5500 or so go with a edelbrock performer or something silmilar a dual plane low rise.....and yes 1slo5.0 you will notice a good increase in power
