New Camero

I was at a car show at a local Chevy dealer; I figured I would bring a little class to the show.

Needless to say a truck load of new Camaros rolled in, it was funny everyone started clapping and cheering. I just shook my head

. The guy next to me said why are they bringing a truck load of Dodge Challenger to a chevy dealer. I said no; It's the new camaro, I must admit it does look alot like the Challenger. The sad thing about it was the whole carrier was full of the RS models (V6). They only pulled one car off the carrier and it left; I guess the dealerships are only getting one in this area. They were reving it up and acting like it was great. It sounded like my sisters Grand am. I guess the V6 is making around 305HP. I was in the 1975 up Modified class and took first place.

The arrival of the Camaro was not the highlight of my day.

The new Camaro is a bad ass looking car as is the Challenger. Both will hand a Mustang its ass. Ford needs to step up the program. Its bad when a V6 Camaro can beat up on a Mustang GT....

Not sure on the handing the GT its ass part, it may be so, but the GT isn't a fat pig like the other two are either.

Lmao, I knew I'd ruffle some feathers with that, but I didn't think it would take 2 weeks for someone to catch that. The V6 Camaros are running low 14s and the stock GTs are running mid to high 13s. The Camaro might not hand the GT its ass but it is cerainly not far away from running neck and neck with it. Its close enough that a good driver in a V6 6-speed Camaro will beat an average driver in a GT manual Mustang. The sad thing is the Camaro makes 304hp out of a V6 and weighs 3800lbs. The GT makes 315hp and weighs 3600lbs. Why is GM getting the same horsepower out of a V6 that Ford is getting out of a V8? Ford needs to step it up. It is pathetic that a heavy V6 car is competitive with a Mustang GT.

It's simple, you made a false statement and people called you out on it. Not ruffling feathers. Fist you say it'll hand the GT it's ass. Then you backtrack and say it not far away from running neck and neck.

I don't know if the '10 and up (or really even the 05-09) Mustangs have that much to worry about, but it is kind of sad that the V8 Mustang from only 5-6 years ago is on the level as the V6 Camaro.

Actually I didn't make a false statement and I didn't back track anything. There are so many people here that have tunnel vision and bash every car out there that isn't a Mustang. It makes me sick. So my intent was to flame a Mustang and ruffle feathers.

How does that 03 GT compare to a Camaro?

The new V6 Camaro will beat up on a 03 GT, that is a fact. I never said anything about a year because the original post was intended to ruffle feathers. Obviously yours are ruffled, and rightfully so because GM has put a car on the market with a V6 that is faster than your Mustang GT and looks good to boot.

And if your definition of fast is a 4V Mustang, I'm sorry....

That would be a nice. Ford needs something that is competetive with the Camaro. The Mustang never has been......well not never but rarely I has been competitive. It would be nice to see something compete with Corvettes too. The ZO6 is a hell of a car and not outrageously priced. The older ZO6 that is. I don't know much about the new ZO6 other than it is a 427. I'm sure the fuel economy has suffered and the price has gone up.
