Help jetta wont stop drivng

I was with my girlfreind ,she was driving ,and all of a sudden the car started acclerating and would not stop,we had to hit the brakes and pull the ebrake,the car was still trying to go,then we had to turn off the car the issue went awy after we let the car sit for 15 min now shes scared to drive the car ,what could be causing this problem thanks

Had that happen in my car once... it was in fact the throttle body.

this is gonna sound stupid, however it's happened to me before and almost caused a terrible accident mergin onto the interstate. make sure the carpet isn't holding it down.

WD40, Liquid Wrench, PB Blaster...anything like that will do the trick.
