Cobalt SS??
Anyone know the stats on the 2007 Cobalt SS my friend has one and we've been racing around. Both of our cars are basically stock at the moment, but I feel like he has like 100 more WHP although i know there about like 220 + im not entirely sure, but I was curious if anyone knew much about them because there pretty damn fast.

I believe 2007 was the year before they started putting turbos on those stock. So if I am correct it's not as fast as the 2008+. Not sure what you're driving. If you're in a v6 it'd be close but i would say the cobalt has you If you're driving a v8 you should have the supercharged version. The newer turbo'd ones will give you some trouble

yea hes got a supercharger in there and i got a 05 GT but I believe he's a lot quicker in the low gears but once I get to my powerband in the high 3rds and 4ths I tend to catch up to him. Maybe if I swapped out my stuck 3.55's for some 4.10's i'd beat him off the line.

Is he stock? The supercharged ones in stock form should be no problem for a stock 3V. They can be quick though. There is one around here with a stage 3 and a small shot of nitrous. It's one of the quicker cars in the tuner crowed around here.

i think he may be stage 2 he bought the car used so I don't even think he necessarily knows but the stage 3 is probably mad fast specially with the nitrous

Not really, LOL. I think he's only spraying a 75 shot or something small like that. Off the spray he couldn't even beat my friends bolt-on 2V car.

They make a Cobalt SS that is non supercharged and the 08+ are turbo'd now and alot quicker....from what has been stated though sounds like your friends has the SS/SC.
With a GM stage 2 kit on them they run pretty decent....if your stock, he will give you a run for your money if you roll race him. If he knows how to drive, you could lose. From a dig you should have him...

my friend has an 07 cobalt ss supercharged that is bone stock and i have a 97 2 valve that only has a cold air intake, exhaust, and 3.73's and i beat him everytime, your 3 valve shouldnt have a problem with one, especially at low end, the cobalts dont hook worth crap from a dig

hahahaha, today I raced that girl for $50! She was talking smack at school about how its so fast. I asked if we could race for some $$$ and she said yeah $50! We did a arm drop best 2 outa 3 and I smashed both times by 5+car lenghts! I killed it off the start. Those cobalts have good top end but no trq.

The SS/SC are good for a 14.0-14.2 with a decent driver....i've seen a few in the mid to low 13s with some extensive mods.....the new turbo'd ones are good for mid-high 13s right out of the box so look out for them.

lol their are a couple running around here that are gonna be insane quick after they are done being built...one is an ls cobalt with a full motor build and a 62 trim turbo, gutted and weighs about nothing. There other is an 06 SS/SC, it has a fully built motor with ported blower and it should run out pretty well. I have some build pics from them, I'll see if they are cool with me posting them. I'm guessing one to run in the 12s somewhere, and the other to be in the 11's and if it can hook possibly 10s.
