Honda Pilot

My mom is looking a getting a Honda Pilot, does anyone know anything about the 2009-2010 honda pilots? are they good reliable cars? or should i try to influence her to get something else?

The Pilot is perfect for the market they're going for: people who buy SUVs because they really need minivans, but refuse to be seen in a minivan, but also accept that they'll never use their SUV for going off-road.

While all of us would prefer she bought something American, I can't see any valid argument against the Pilot, other than MAYBE resale. Unexciting cars don't resale for crap, and the Pilot is the SUV equivalent of a beige Camry.

we have 3 in our family. wife has an 08 and it is well worth the 30k that we spent on it.

and the 09's they went to a new body with the variable cylinder management.

I would love to have that in ours.

confortable, spacious, loaded with options. i wouldn't own any other SUV

it is a lot of money but you get what you pay for. honda vehicles are very reliable. my wife has a 2000 civic with 160k mi on it and it is still going strong. see if you can get one off lease or something with like 36 k on it. may cave ya like 8 grand. (although some times rebate programs negate those kinds of deals)

exactly. my wife's old 94 accord (which we gave to her dad when we bought the pilot) has 182K miles on the clock and still runs like the day it drove off the lot.

the damn body will rust off these cars before the drive train let's go.

I believe that a car should be quality made as well.

America makes some quality cars and trucks as well. Hell look at my old f150. 30 years old and over 400k on the original everything. It is all in what you choose.
