Ranger owners?
I have an '04 XLT with a 4.0L and a 5-speed. Just had it out playing in the snow! Those 4.10 rears with that 5-speed and that V6 make for some FUN donuts and powerslides!
Anybody else got a Danger Ranger?Pics: ![]() ![]() ![]()

[stupid blonde voice] "How do you put it in gear?" "How do I put the window down?" "Why do you have three pedals?" "Where's the button to move the seat?" "Why would you drive that thing? You're always changing gears, that window thing hurts my hand, you don't even have cruise control! This sucks, why would you ever buy this?" [/nails on chalkboard] Crazy women, they'll never understand!

Here's a pic of the ranger i had. It was my first vehicle and I loved this truck to death and regret selling it to this day. It was a 1999 model with the 3.0v6 auto tranny and 4.10 rear gears.I installed a 3" body lift with a set of BFG A/T's. It had over 135,000 miles on it when I traded the truck for my F150. The only thing I didn't like about that truck was the motor. It waa waaaaay underpowered. Even with the low ratio gears that motor still caught hell moving that truck around. It was very capable offroad though. When I started looking around for a second vehicle I almost bought another 4wd Ranger but decided I wanted a sports car instead. Here's a pic.

i had a ranger for my first (1990), second (1997), fourth (1999), and fifth (2002) vehicles. i wish i'd kept at least one of them. i have an f-150 now so no real need for another truck. but i'd still like to have one. i miss my danger rangers.

Yea you can get a 4 cylinder 4x4 but I think it comes with a manual only tranny option.

Lmao I love rangers but this reminded me of my buddies old truck. It was a 1988 2.0, 5-speed. The thing had 300k+ on it and maybe about 40 wheel horsepower. Even being a 2wd with no tailgate the thing did NOT move even with the throttle down you couldn't go above 60 and it took like 20 minutes to get there lol. The shifter was as loose as a prostitutes meat locker so you grinded every gear, and missing 3rd was inevitable. He ended up toasting the thing after a day of blasting down trails, doing doughnuts in the mud and nailing mudholes so hard he got air. We think the thing that actually killed it though was when he tried to get a flex going on this dirt mound, the right tire started to spin trying to get up on it and he sat there and burned the tire bald. Best day ever, huge cloud of smoke going over a lake, I yell out better hope no one calls the fire department! 2 minutes later we heard a roar of a detroit and see lights and we all scattered haha. Next day the thing wouldn't start and he junked it before we could find out what broke.

Hmmm.. there is a ranger locally to me for a g. Other than a ugly yellow paint job, and gay pin stripe it looks like a good beater.
I may buy it for a woods truck.
