I said Ba Bye to the 2008 Escape and got this yesterday. I was starting to have electrical problems at 33,000 miles and it was a used rental car. Just some strange things were appearing including my drivers seat hardware rusting on the seat base. Was it sunk at one time?? Maybe.

But the new one has my favorite colors so I won't be so embarrassed to drive her, has SYNC and satalite radio. So now my Blackberry is blue toothed to the car. I need ideas how to pimp her out but the rims will have to be the same due to the extreme Chicago Winters, no chrome. I'm thinking a triple tri colored pinstripe for starters maybe red, purple and orange...still thinking of color combos and I want a full LED tailgate light. Just need some sources for installs. So post up some creative ideas, I'm excited!

Awesome dude. My wife and I are looking at getting a 2008 or newer Escape once we're debt free (about a year and a half from now). We've test driven em, and man, what a ride! I love it. Looks great!

Shar, for some reason that rust on the seat track is common. My wifes has it as well as other escapes that I have worked on. I dont know what it is causing it though. Also what type of electrical problems are you having with your car

With snow and salt no chrome for this Truckster. BUT...BUT I am open to rustproof rim suggestions everyone. I think a black rim is just too dark, however a combo is a real possibility here. I think these are 16" alloys so rims could be inexpensive....ideas are wanted, post links.

Interior is BLACK... I really think this a perfect size car for a daily.

The electrical problems in the 08:....the lights would flicker, ALL of them and of course this was noticable while stopped in traffic. Dealer looked at it and no problem found....I don't like Phantom electrical. It was intermittant but would do it 90% of the time

So other seat hardware is rusting too?? I noticed this one is all PAINTED in black glossy...wonder if that will stop the problem. Bizarre totally bizarre. Rust is metal fatique, that seat could rip out on impact.

There was also a problem with the left front wheel and traction control. That wheel also was making a ringing noise at 40 mph. Then the tranny was clunky and audible sounds while putting into reverse.

Thanks and I would go up to the newer models. This 2010 rides sooooo much smoother than the 2008, very nice and the SYNC system-WOW! get that one for sure.

And if you upgrade wheels maybe put somethign jsut a bit more agressive on it, like an A/T type tire.

Hey there! Haven't talked to you in a while. So....I do not have an A/T type tire..I have a car type tire, huh? Well yeah I agree, that needs to go.

tell me the ride difference and how an A/T tire will handle in snow compared to these Michelin's
