Title Issues
I just bought a 1990 Ford Festiva from a guy who bought it from another guy...not a bright idea but I had plans for the car and it was a good deal.
The title was open and never notarized(it is a KY title). The first guy signed it all over and it is like he sold it straight to me but it was not notarized. The IN license branch will not let me put plates on it until the title has been notarized but KY will not notarize it without the original seller and seeing him sign. So here I sit with a car that the government will not let me put plates on. I know the car is not stolen, etc. It was just an open title and a dumb situation. Does anyone know of a rememdy? The Government does not want to help me out. |

Find a notary in your county. They will give you a remedy. Or ask the owner you bought it from to produce a "bill of sale" to you. Here that can be used to get plates.
This may help.
